The 1982 Big Red
The Big Red went 26-13 and won the Ivy League title with a 12-6 EIBL record, finishing second in the conference standings to Navy (13-4-1). As a team, Cornell led the EIBL in hitting in conference play (.337) and finished third in team ERA (4.32) Three Big Red players were named to the EIBL first team (Mike Branca - 1B, Marlin McPhail - 2B, John DeMayo - OF), the most in one season since 1971. Cornell closed out the season with a three-game sweep of Penn State and won six of its final seven games.
