The 1972 Big Red
Against one of the nation’s top schedules that included games against Cal, Tennessee, UCLA, Stanford, South Carolina and Arizona State, Cornell goes 20-10-1 overall and wins a share of the EIBL championship with a 10-4 record. The Big Red loses a one-game playoff to Harvard, but not after picking up wins over South Carolina, Arizona State and Tennessee. The Big Red won seven of its final eight games of the season. Third baseman Tom Boettcher earned first-team All-EIBL honors, while pitcher Fred Anyzeski and outfielder Joseph Meo were second teamers.
