As a sophomore (2020)

• Did not make any appearances before balance of season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a freshman (2019)

• Made two relief appearances, striking out three in 1.2 innings with a 5.40 ERA.
• Debuted April 6 vs. Brown, fanning two of four batters he faced.
• Pitched one inning May 1 vs. Binghamton.

Prior to Cornell

• Earned Public Schools Athletic League's 2018 Wingate Award, which is awarded annually to top senior athlete in each sport.
• Named starter for 2018 PSAL All-Star Game and closed out victory for PSAL in 2018 Mayor's Cup game against the Catholic High School Athletic Association.
• Placed on all-tournament team for 2016 WWBA Underclass World Championship, also later earning honorable mention for Northeast Region on 2018 Perfect Game All-Region teams.
• Tabbed by 25th among pitchers in New York and Top 1,000 nationally among classmates by Perfect Game.
• Pitched and played corner infield for four years at Beacon School, also competing for one season as a soccer goalkeeper.

Personal

• William Tex Gilbert is the son of Franklin Henry Gilbert and Joko Gilbert, and he has one brother.
• Enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
