Josh Robinson 2025 Headshot

Josh Robinson

Josh Robinson is entering his second season as the Cornell men's hockey director of hockey operations after joining the program in August 2025.

Robinson arrived on East Hill after spending eight seasons as a goaltending and video coach in the professional ranks across the ECHL and DEL.

His final three professional seasons were spent in the DEL — Germany's top professional league. Robinson served as goaltending and video coach at Löwen Frankfurt for two seasons before joining the Schwenninger Wild Wings for the 2024-25 campaign. At both stops, he developed professional goaltenders, worked with youth development programs at the U17 and U20 levels, live-tagged games, created pre-scout materials and assisted in postgame breakdowns including shot quality analysis. At Schwenninger, his development responsibilities extended to the U13 and U15 levels as well.

Before heading to Europe, Robinson spent four seasons as the goaltending and video coach for the ECHL's Florida Everblades (2017-21), where he mentored Jake Hildebrand — the ECHL's Goaltender of the Year in 2021 — and helped the club win Brabham Cup regular-season championships in 2018 and 2021. He also worked with the ECHL's Kansas City Mavericks during the 2021-22 season.

A four-year player at Michigan Tech, Robinson appeared in 90 games for the Huskies. He posted a 15-14-4 record with a 2.83 goals-against average and .909 save percentage as a senior in 2011-12.

After graduating in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing, he embarked on a six-year professional playing career in the AHL, ECHL, and leagues in Hungary and Norway. His standout seasons included a 27-8-4 record with 2.57 goals-against average and .925 save percentage with the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads in 2012-13, and a 28-2-1 record with a 1.88 goals-against average and .931 save percentage with the ECHL's Missouri Mavericks in 2015-16 — the latter ranking among the league's best in goals-against average and save percentage that season.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wis., Robinson and his wife, Rebekah, have a daughter, Hollie, and two sons, Koa and Liam.
