At Cornell: Serves as the primary communications contact for Big Red football, women's basketball, men's lacrosse, gymnastics, fencing, equestrian and golf.Â
Prior to Cornell: Gillen spent the previous four years at Niagara University as the Assistant Director of Digital Content, serving as the primary contact for all 19 Division I sports, including men's basketball, women's lacrosse, men's and women's swimming, and the Purple Eagles' nationally-ranked bowling program. Prior to Niagara, Gillen had stops at Canisius University, where he served as the primary contact for women's basketball, women's lacrosse and cross country/track, and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), where he was the primary media relations contact for cross country, swimming & diving, tennis, golf, and rowing, while assisting with both basketball and lacrosse.
Education: Niagara University, 2017 (B.S. in Sport Management); Canisius University, 2021 (Masters in Sport Administration).
Of Note: Gillen has worked events such as Super Bowl 50, NCAA March Madness First & Second Rounds (2017, 2022), NCAA Women's Basketball Albany Regional (2018), and the NCAA Frozen Four (2019).
Personal: Gillen is a native of Rotterdam, N.Y., and graduated from Schalmont High School. He resides in Ithaca, N.Y., with his dog Archer.
