ITHACA, N.Y. -- It's time to take an in-depth look at the 2010 Big Red football team position group by position group. Assistant coach Brian Young has an experienced group of corners in 2010, including multiple-year starters Emani Fenton and Rashad Campbell.

Cornell returns plenty of experience in the defensive backfield and adds size and speed to an position. Senior Emani Fenton (5-9, 171) and returning All-Ivy junior Rashad Campbell (5-8, 184) each have significant starting experience, while senior Andy Wade (5-10, 174) also has been a solid contributor during his career. Sophomores DeMarr Moulton (5-11, 192) and Max Martinez (5-10, 190) and freshmen Andre Joseph (5-11, 181) and AJ Okereke (5-11, 166) round out the lineup and have plenty of opportunity to defend opponents' passing games.

Fenton brings two years of starting experience and a tremendous amount of leadership intangibles into the season. A hard worker who makes up for his lack of size with a fierce competitiveness, he has the vision and the attack mentality to excel in Cornell's packages. As a junior in 2009, Fenton had 36 tackles, broke up nine passes and returned a blocked kick for a touchdown against Colgate for his first career score. He was second on the team in pass breakups, including four to go along with four tackles in the win at Yale.

Another player full of fight, Campbell also is undersized but uses his toughness and athleticism to make plays on the edges. He started all 10 games at corner in 2009, recording 42 tackles, 10 pass breakups, an interception, a fumble recovery and 2.0 tackles for loss during the season. He finished the season fourth in the Ivy League with 11 passes defended and had a pass breakup in nine of the team's 10 games. Campbell had a tackle for loss and an interception vs. Fordham and posted nine tackles at Yale.

Wade, a three-year letter winner, started six games as a sophomore and played in nine contests in 2009 despite suffering multiple injuries. He made four tackles while playing in nickel packages and on special teams. He is a good tackler and a top playmaker when healthy.

Moulton was the top playmaker on the junior varsity in 2009 while also seeing time on special teams in six contests with the varsity. Martinez joined him on the junior varsity on the opposite side of the field and also proved to be a player capable of playing the position with his physicality.

Joseph and Okereke possess the physical skills to join the travel squad, but will be able to develop at their own pace as rookies thanks to the depth in front of them.
