ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell track and field teams head into the championship portion of the indoor season with great momentum. Hosting 15 other schools at the Marc Deneault Memorial Invitational on Saturday in Barton Hall, the Big Red men and women tallied 16 combined Eastern qualifiers, boasted a pair of school records and produced 11 event wins.
The Deneault family was on hand once again to recognize the meet's Most Valuable Performers on the track and in the field at the end of the meet. In the field, Cornell sophomore
Grant Sisserson earned Male MVP honors after setting a school and Ivy League record in the pole vault (17' 11 1/4") and Big Red senior Eve Bishop earned Female MVP honors in setting a new school record, while moving to third all-time in League history, with a winning pole vault clearance of 13' 1 1/2".
