ITHACA, N.Y. -- A pair of first-half goals gave Princeton an early lead as the Cornell men's soccer team fell to the Tigers, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Berman Field in Ithaca. The Tigers improve to 5-9-1 on the year and 2-2-1 in Ivy League play, while Cornell falls to 1-13 and 0-5.

Princeton got on the board in the 27th minute as Ben Harms took the ball down along the goal line on the right of goalkeeper Steve Lesser before cutting toward the middle and slipping a low shot past the senior netminder. Harms was involved on Princeton's second goal, again taking the ball along the goal line, but instead of firing a shot, slipped a pass into the middle, where Brandon Busch directed the ball into the back of the net to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead at the half.

In the second period, Princeton added to the lead when Teddy Schneider headed a ball off to the right where Nate Krinsky lofted a shot that banked off the far post and into the goal in the 62nd minute, providing the final margin.

Lesser made four saves in goal for the Big Red, while Princeton goalkeeper Joe Walter made two saves for the Tigers. Princeton also picked up a defensive team save when J.J. Bain's first-half header was cleared off the line by the Tiger defense. Princeton out-shot the Big Red, 17-13, but Cornell held a slim 7-6 edge in corner kicks.

The Big Red closes out the home portion of the 2008 season on Sat., Nov. 8, taking on Dartmouth in a 7 p.m. contest at Berman Field.
