Employment
A student-athlete may receive employment compensation unrelated to NIL, so long as the payment is:
· Only for work that is actually performed; and
· At a rate commensurate with the going rate for similar services in the area.
Student-athletes should complete a Student-Athlete Employment Form in Teamworks before they start a new job.
Camp Employment
Any student-athlete that wishes to work at a non-Cornell camp/clinic must completed a Student-Athlete Camp Employment Workflow in Teamworks.
Be advised that owning your own camp/clinic is only permissible as NIL and a NIL Disclosure must be submitted prior to the start of the camp/clinic.
Fee-for-lesson Employment
A student athlete can provide fee-for-lesson instructions to an individual so long as the following conditions are met:
· The instruction may not occur in an institutional facility;
· Skill instruction must be provided, “playing lessons” are not permitted;
· Payment must be at the going rate for such services in the area;
· Submit a Fee-for-Lesson workflow prior to providing instruction; and
· Student-Athletes must submit a NIL Disclosure if they wish to advertise/promote their lessons.
